SUMMARY:Enamel Art Workshop
DESCRIPTION:In this weekend workshop\, participants will learn foundational techniques of vitreous enameling on copper\, a process that fuses finely ground glass to metal through high heat. Demonstrations will cover the preparation\, application\, and firing of enamel to create colorful surfaces on sculptural copper forms. Students will have time for creative experimentation\, exploring color and pattern through layered surface design. Upon completion\, attendees will leave with a fundamental understanding of enameling processes\, a series of completed small works\, and the ability to continue independent experimentation. Participants will be guided by a UW-Stout expert instructor in the metals lab from Saturday through Sunday. All materials\, as well as lunch and snacks on both days\, are provided. Individual lodging in a campus dorm for one night is available for additional cost.
