Who: Everyone!
What: A self-directed ski, snowshoe or hiking event
When: 2/1/21 through 2/28/21
Where: Red Cedar Trail and Hoffman Hills Recreational Area
Why: To celebrate winter and explore our local properties
Here’s your chance to participate in a winter challenge while you patiently wait for the return of the Friends of the Red Cedar Trail Candlelight Ski in 2022.
Choose an activity below and complete it during the month of February. Share a selfie of an individual or a family group in order to be entered into prize drawings at the end of the month.
Red Cedar Trail:
Cross-country ski from the Depot to the ice wall (between mile marker 1 and 2).
Take a selfie in front of the ice wall.
Riverside Park:
Snowshoe or hike starting at Red Cedar Trail Depot, following the sign to the
snowshoe/hiking trail through Riverside Park to the Red Cedar River.
Take a selfie in front of the river.
Hoffman Hills:
Cross-country ski from the main parking lot to intersection #21 (a slight detour
from the green beginner trail). Take a selfie at the rustic shelter.
Snowshoe or hike on the designated snowshoe trails from the overflow parking lot.
Take a selfie at the bench on Richard’s Pond or, for a climbing challenge, at the
bench near the Observation Tower.
